I am a 63 year old personal trainer and I have been "planning" on getting down to my ideal weight since my 60th birthday. One would think this wouldn't be a big deal to someone like me who is in the health & fitness field. I tried counting calories, following diets, point systems, etc., but either I was too hungry or I would just get tired of the whole thing and quit after 3 weeks.

12 weeks later, I am at my goal weight and I feel fantastic! Besides my weight loss, my other nagging health issues that I had attributed to aging have disappeared. My energy level is consistently good, my skin is clear and my persistent stomach problems are gone.

Her insightful professional guidance kept me out of a spinal fusion operation! She worked with me to keep me on an anti-inflammatory diet which was one of the two main contributors which over time reduced my symptoms to the point that surgery was not even a consideration. Along with the anti-inflammatory diet, I also went on a strict routine of Pilates. However, I attribute my avoiding a life altering surgery mainly to the understanding I was able to bring to new nutritional and diet habits through working with Carol.
In 2012 I had been to six surgeons over a period of nine months to diagnose the reasons for my legs going numb to the point that I could not walk more than three city blocks. I was terrified. Every surgeon I saw said I would not walk again without spinal fusion as I have a typical case of spondilythesis and stenosis in L-4 L-5 and fusion is the typical way of treating this. I investigated spinal fusion and realized I had the likely possibility of becoming a patient for life, as there is such a high rate of needing additional fusions. Realizing that my three steroidal epidurals had given me relief from symptoms for about three weeks each, I though what if one were to live in an anti-inflamed environment?
Carol's nuanced way of guiding me through a healthy diet to avoid inflammation has given me a platform of healthy living beyond the most immediate benefit which was to avoid surgery.

Before I came to see you, every day I would be thinking about what to eat, what not to eat, when to eat, when not to eat, how much I weigh today, how much I would weigh the next day, how much I would weigh by the weekend... My weight and my eating habits consumed my every thought.

Working with Carol has enabled my wife and I to eat healthy, functional meals without constant hunger pangs. Eating smarter has resulted in weight loss that everyone notices - and that benefits my active lifestyle greatly.
Prior to seeing Carol, I was an obese person slowly sliding up the weight scale, harboring too many rationalizations about how my appetite and my weight gain "wasn't that bad" and could be offset by moderate exercise. But that was so clearly incorrect. I was constantly hungry. I was exercising and not losing any weight - rather, I was gaining it still (yet more slowly). I consumed a lot of coffee during the day and moderate but constant servings of alcohol every single day - an up-and-down alertness roller coaster that wrecked my digestive system and frayed my nerves.

In addition to continuing to lose the weight I wanted to lose, I am feeling so good and healthy. I also never thought I’d be able to do the initial two week detox cleanse and it became easier with each day. After many years of trying to drop my weight through various weight loss programs I decided it was not working for me. My doctor recommended Carol - a nutritionist with an individual approach to weight loss who would look at "me" and decide what was needed to be done.
I was 30 lbs overweight before I started. Although I had a personal trainer I still felt heavy and not at my best and I knew for me, food was the issue.
Before I started this program I was cutting back my food but picking the wrong food types. I made the commitment to myself to do Carol's TRANSFORM program and cannot recommend it highly enough. It did require thought and discipline – and relearning the right type of foods, but it was well worth it. The weight has dropped off and I feel so much healthier and fitter. Keeping the Food Diary and the weekly meetups and phone calls made it easy to stay on track and keep focused, so that when the program ended I knew what I had to do to stay on track.
I decided to add on a follow up session as a back up, as I worried without support, I may find it hard, but I felt the time I had spent overall had put me on the right path and my new food plan was actually my reality. The new food choices have become what I want to eat, not what I have to eat.
